Corrupt
"So God said to Noah, 'I am going to put an end to all people, for the earth is filled with violence because of them. I am surely going to destroy both them and the earth.'" - Genesis 6:13
This could possibly be the scripture that evokes the most sadness inside of me. It's clear that God was disgusted with what went on here, and, consequently, He wanted to get rid of everything and everybody - except a select few. At this point, many people bring up the argument that if God was so loving than why would He do something like this? Well, that's a good question, but if you ask that question then you have to (at least) question if God was not justified in what He did, then are you saying that the people on earth at the time (whom I'm sure were just as sinful as us - I haven't met anyone without sin other than Jesus) were angelic sweetie pies? Are you saying they were cuties, and innocent people whom we should stand up for? I don't think they were. It's obvious to me that God is not punishing people because of something He did, but because of something we did. If anything He should have wiped us all out by now. He has been incredibly gracious with us. God is not the one at fault here. It's us who need to take the blame.
Unfair
It doesn't seem right that God who has given us chance after chance should take the blame for our stupidity and inability to be perfect. Not only has He given us many chances with extreme patience, but He sent Jesus to be flogged and beaten beyond recognition in order that He can have mercy on us. And who is to blame?
Redeemed
Jesus' grace can renew you. There is hope whether you are a disciple of Jesus or not. This is not something new, but His grace is just as powerful today as it has ever been. Allow the Holy Spirit to soften your heart today and allow Jesus to be your Savior.
